Update on the 2009 Pony Club Championship.

Just a quick note to let everyone know that things are progressing very quickly at PCHQ in terms of preparations to launch the new Endurance Riding Championships for 2009.

The newly elected national committee met for the first time last week and were all very excited about the progress so far.

Fantastic news was that Carr and Day Martin have very kindly agreed to sponsor the discipline for 2009 which will really give things a boost.  It is a real leap of faith from them with things in such early stages and so very much appreciated.

The Championships have already been booked for 20th September at College Equestrian Centre in Bedfordshire.  (Get that date in your diary now!) We will be sharing the venue/date with an existing EGB National Ride and so can benefit from thier expertise and assistance.

The exact rules are still being finalised but there should be a Novice, Intermediate and Open competition available at the finals for both individuals and branch teams.  Riders and ponies will be expected to qualify at rides either put on by PC branches or by using existing EGB rides.

There should be more definate information available in the New Year and branches should all be recieving an information pack as soon as it is available.  Watch this space :)
